Vision of Teaching and Learning

As an experienced learner and instructor in both face-to-face and online environments I have found that what works well for most learners is active learning with opportunities for collaborative experiences with peers and instructors. I am a strong believer in the constructivist approach (Hein,1991) and Knowles' theory about how adults learn (Smith, 2002). Above all, I value learner-centered education.

My vision is to design and teach high quality, online and hybrid courses in technology and allied health programs of higher education. I believe that the power of online learning tools will provide learners the opportunity to participate in high quality, life-long learning experiences in a manner that is flexible and pertinent to their professional development.
